Admission
Entrance requirements are either a High School Diploma/GED or College Degree. Upon completion of the programs, students will receive a Certificate of Completion
Attendance
A student will be allowed two absences per term/quarter. Upon a third absence the student will receive a warning letter and will be responsible to make-up the absent hours (see make-up policy). When a student is absent a fourth consecutive time, the student must see the School Director to explain the reasons for absences and discuss a corrective measure. In the event the student fails to respond to the warning letters and see the school director he/she will be dismissed from the program and will have to repeat the courses at a later time when the course is next available.
Conduct
RLI is a professional and academic community whose goal is to contribute to the care of people through the education of our students for a variety of clinical and administrative roles. We have created a foundation that fosters a learning environment dedicated to the highest standards of academic integrity, values, honesty and respect for individual differences and viewpoints. All members of the RLI community are expected to abide by the laws and regulations of the school and to obey local, state and federal laws.
We expect our students to behave in a way that is consistent with the goal of providing optimal patient care. Students’ interactions with each other, RLI faculty and other professionals in both academic and clinical settings both on and off campus should reflect a respect for confidentiality according to federal and state privacy standards, avoid stereotyping, and reflect your profession’s ultimate commitment to caring. Abuse or use of drugs, including alcohol, narcotics or chemicals on or near the school premises or during an internship/externship program is considered improper professional conduct and will not be tolerated. RLI reserves the right to remove any such person from the campus or internship immediately. There is no smoking on or near school premises.
In additional, behavior such as harassment, disruption of class, misuse of materials or facilities of the school and unauthorized use of services, equipment or facilities are prohibited. Students are expected to respect their classmates and instructors by adhering to general classroom decorum (e.g. punctuality, refraining from cell phone usage, addressing faculty and students in a respectful tone). The possession or use on or near school premises of weapons, explosives or incendiary materials (including guns, ammunition, air rifles, paintball and pellet guns, Tasers, and knives) is absolutely prohibited.
Failure to adhere to the above principles will be referred to the school’s Director. Any findings of such violations will be subject to one or more of the following actions: counseling, reprimand, probation, suspension, dismissal, fine, restriction, or referral for prosecution. This policy allows for the consideration of infractions on a case-by-case basis. Final actions will depend on the seriousness of the infraction and the circumstances surrounding the case, in the sole discretion of the director
Job Placement
We offer placement assistance for all of our graduates. We help our graduates in preparing resumes, setting up mock interviews and even offer, “dress for success” sessions. We want our graduates to leave our school being fully prepared for the outside world. Our placement coordinator works closely with employers and staffing agencies to match our graduate’s resume with the jobs available. RLI cannot guarantee employment to any student or graduate, but we can offer our support and guidance.
